Alan Dunning
Principal Supply Chain Manager (Procurement & Contracts)
Alan has over forty years of experience in procurement management for the oil and gas, mining, power and infrastructure, manufacturing, and aviation industries. He has led large teams in excess of 150 people on successful procurement projects.
His skillsets centre around project-based commercial procurement and contracts management. He is highly experienced in project start up, process implementation, planning, team establishment and client alignment, departmental and commercial contracting strategies, and leading business development activities including issuing global tender proposals. He is also known for his risk analysis, commercial negotiations, local content strategy, and supply chain systems management abilities.
Alan has worked at a senior level for Worley in Perth since 1996, but has also worked for Clough, Davy McKee-McDermott JV, Bechtel, Brown & Root (now KBR), British Airways, and Westland Helicopters (now Leonardo Helicopters). He continues to work at Worley on major resource industry procurement projects while contributing his expertise to the ongoing development of Requis’ procurement capability as the platform SME.
Alan has also lectured at Perth Central TAFE, conducting courses in purchasing fundamentals and purchasing practices and techniques. These units formed part of the Diploma of Management Studies.
When Alan was entering the workforce, most people were not being directed to go into business, but he had a rare and keen interest in procurement as a first career choice. He chose procurement because he liked dealing with people, which is still an important consideration in procurement today.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
