Sourcing Hard-to-Find Assets

The challenge:
An oil and gas operator working in the Middle East had a tight construction deadline, and were quickly approaching the point of cancellation because of a missing key requirement.
20,000 feet of pipeline was still missing, but none of their usual suppliers could provide any that met the complex specifications.
The solution:
We were able to find the exact kind of pipe they needed in Houston, and quoted it to the operator.
But that wasn’t the end of the story because a further challenge arose. The proposal could not be delivered electronically – it had to be delivered in person – and within 48 hours. We were able to fax it to a team member in their area, who walked it over to the buyer’s office.
Impact:
The pipe met all the requirements, and the sale went ahead. Not only did the construction project proceed on schedule, but the operator saved the cost of cancelling the project last minute.
