Cernan is a full stack web developer, currently specializing in front end and user interface development for the Requis platform. As a former code instructor Cernan helps the team leverage the best of modern solutions and code patterns.

A pragmatic problem solver who excels at solving short-term problems with the long term in mind, Cernan is also a great mentor for junior coders. He is fluent in JavaScript, SQL, AJAX, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, React/Redux, Angular, JSON, Node JS, and other languages. He stays up to date with the latest in UI/UX to keep improving the platform experience.

Cernan graduated from the University of Phoenix in 2008 with a BS in Business and Finance, and spent 10 years as a financial advisor before finding a love of coding at a boot camp.

He attended the Flatiron School’s full stack web development program in Manhattan and was so good at mentoring other students he joined the faculty, earning a role as a senior faculty manager. After graduation, he did freelance work for Shop the Change before signing on at Requis.
