Kurt Hogarth is a creative technologist with a passion for building experiences. Throughout his career, he’s worked on projects in various lifecycles in various industries that blend technology, such as creative and marketing.

With a degree in Computer Science specializing in Game Design and Development, Kurt is a polyglot programmer and started coding in lower-level languages such as C, C++, and C# and later adopted web frameworks such as angular, react, and Elixir. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring projects involving art, hardware, and software. These projects satisfy a creative itch and allow him to use low-level languages to build real-world applications/experiences.

At Requis, he designs and maintains the back-end Elixir systems at Requis as Sr. Backend Lead. He collaborates with the front-end and back-end teams for feature development and mentors the back-end team on Elixir and OTP. As our application evolves, we leverage the 30+ years of experience Erlang brings with Elixir that allows us to solve complex problems with predictable, simple solutions.

Call of Duty, Anime, and Netflix currently consume his spare time while relishing a good cup of coffee while constantly searching for a great Jamaican restaurant.
